Hammerhead Gym Bali

When staying in the Seminyak area of Bali I train at the Hammerhead Gym everyday. It’s in a good location, the changing rooms have lockers & showers.

A big plus is I’m able to pay daily but on the downside is quite expensive for Bali at 60.000 IDR (5 Euros approx.) compared to the other gyms a little further out.

Beware-I recieved a hard blow to the head by this wide bar once when I removed the pin to change lbs!!!

Here is a snippet from their website Hammerhead has more than 25 selected work out stations as well as heavy free weights and a full range of cardio equipment and a stretching/aerobic area in a fully air-conditioned 600m2 space. Windows overlook Bali’s Sunset in the west, the Bali mountains in the north and famous Gunung Agung volcano in the east. Its a great place in the heart of Seminyak for routine training, or to get in shape before hitting the party and beach scenes or to achieve the highest levels of conditioning.  Our equipment is from the US and we have modified and upgraded with Life Fitness products, making it the most complete gym in Bali. “

Travel & Training, Preperation is Key!

I put all my fitness gear together that I had packed for my week away to Bali, to show and defy the excuse to my clients and fit fans that it’s not impossible to keep up with training when traveling! It’s a matter of planning, preparing and making fitness a lifestyle habit not a Temporary Goal.

The List (starting top left)

My Training Log/Pen, Moisture proof headband, Jump Rope, Running Rucksack/Gym Bag, Bashed up Trainers-(I like to take old trainers away then throw them at the end of holiday so I have room for more shopping on my return-Clever!), Vibram Free running shoes (For Beach runs), Mesh weather proof 2XU Cap, Rolled Oats, My full supplement Chain, Coconut Oil-I always buy this Cold Pressed brand from Seminyak!, Pre-Training energy drink, Protein Shaker, Gym Gloves, Video Camera for training or gym reviews on my YouTube channel;), ipod & Sports Headphones, Moisture wristband, Gymboss Interval timer, Tape Measure, Small Towel, Polar Heart Rate Monitor (GYM), Nike+ Sensor/Sportsband/Heart rate Monitor.

I was quite shocked when I did lay it out as I didn’t realise it takes up nearly a 3rd of my bag! (And by the way there was a running Belt bag and 4 fitness magazines that I forgot to lay out!)  It seems a lot but 1, I was still in prep mode for my SFBF Competition 2, I made fitness a part of my life and enjoy checking out and training in new gyms and meeting new people or running on the beach at Sunset.

FAIL TO PREPARE, PREPARE TO FAIL!

Post Competition Diet- lean but with added Good Foods returned ;)

Thanks Everyone for messages and support on my 1st competition,

Everyone is asking what was my treat meal, well the lads took me to Dempsey hill to Lamborghini’s and I ordered a Wagyu Cheese Burger, with chilli fries and we shared a bottle of Verve Clicquot Rose, later a Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream waffle Brownie mix-to go (and ate it on the sofa as my body needs a rest.)

Today I’m happy to eat clean but with good foods added that are not allowed in Competition diet, fruit, Milk in my coffee, both I haven’t had in 3 months! and Protein Powder, Oats, Peanut Butter which I cut out 2 weeks ago!

No gym today apart from dancing down in Sentosa, Tanjong Beach Bar to see my friends and have a celebration Beer ;)
Tomorrow I will be stronger and back to smashing it at the gym after much needed time out! x
